Kali Sulph, or Kali Sulphuricum (potassium sulphate), is the traditional oxygen-carrier among the 12 biochemic tissue salts. While Kali Phos focuses on the nerves, Kali Sulph is primarily associated with skin balance and the final stages of inflammation. In biochemic and homeopathic medicine, the guiding symptom for this remedy is yellow discharges.
Potassium Sulphate (Kali Sulph) is traditionally associated with the building, distribution and utilisation of oils within the body, and also with what is described as internal respiration.
Supports Ferr Phos in transporting oxygen around the body and respiration of cells.
Internal breathing of tissues depends on kali sulph, external breathing is Ferr Phos. Kali Sulph therefore has a beneficial effect on respiration.
Skin health
Kali Sulph is closely associated with the formation of new skin cells, and also regarded as a primary remedy in traditional use for skin concerns. It is often considered where there are eruptions on the skin accompanied by scaling, and flaking.
Dandruff and hair
Scaling of the scalp, and also dandruff, are key areas where Kali Sulph is traditionally brought into use. It is also associated with helping to maintain healthy hair.
Inflammation
Inflammatory states are noted in traditional literature, and also where there may be underlying irritation within tissues.
Rheumatic pain
Kali Sulph is associated with rheumatic pain, often described in relation to auto-toxicity.
Catarrh and yellow secretions
Where there is catarrh, and also yellowish discharge from the skin or mucous membranes, Kali Sulph is traditionally considered.
A deficiency of Kali Sulph is traditionally described as leading to oils within the body becoming thick and sticky, rather than flowing freely. This may result in yellow discharge, and also the clogging of pores and glands, with swelling and abscesses potentially developing.
Celery, lettuce, chicory and endive, as well as cress, cauliflower and spinach, alongside mustard, radish and tomato, and also carrots and onion. Apples, lemons and dates are included, along with most nuts, lentils and peas.
