Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH)

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH)

What Is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

A combination of CBT, NLP, Neuroscience and Hypnotherapy. A future focused therapy to help re-shape problematic thoughts and behaviours, to help you create the changes you desire in your life.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is distinct from traditional forms of hypnotherapy. Rather than focusing on the past, it emphasises the present and the future. It integrates solution-focused brief therapy, neuroscience, and elements of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). As a positive and empowering approach, it helps people improve their mental health and achieve personal goals. The therapy combines talking techniques with hypnosis, encouraging individuals to move forward, shift their mindset, and take control of their lives.

Using practical, structured, and well-researched strategies, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy enables clients to make significant positive changes swiftly by looking ahead instead of dwelling on previous experiences.

A therapy that allows our thought processes to come out of our primitive brain which worries, obsesses and holds unhelpful thoughts. Instead we learn how to be directed by our pre-frontal cortex, to replace engrained thoughts and behaviours with those based on truth. The conscious and sub-conscious are brought together to allow us to see the wood for the trees and solutions to problems, and ideas of what’s next for us. This allows us to be who we really are, and is a positive way to help direct our future.

A key element of this therapy is understanding how the brain functions and the neuroscience behind our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. By gaining insight into these processes, you can begin to understand why you might react in certain ways and how problems and symptoms develop.

This is a future focused therapy, working on positive interactions, positive thoughts and positive action.

Clients find they have a better understanding of themselves, and can also move forward in a more healthy and happy way. Sleep and stress levels usually improve significantly.

In addition it helps to empower, find our truth and provide a framework for positive change. You’ll be equipped with lifelong tools and strategies to maintain a positive outlook and enhance your wellbeing long after the sessions conclude.

What Happens:

Initial consultation to explore your reasons for the treatment. Allows the therapist to dig deeper. Explanations of how the brain is relating to your particular area of concern and how it can be holding us back. This is the only session that will look at past events. After this session the focus is on building a positive future, using a process proven to work.

Follow Up sessions of combined consultation & hypnotherapy. The sessions progress each time and build on the previous session. Homework will be given, alongside a recording for regular listening.

FAQs

Does Online Hypnotherapy Work?

Online hypnotherapy sessions are just as effective as those conducted in person. Many people even find they are more relaxed and comfortable engaging with their therapist from their own home. A mix of both in person and on line is possible.

How Long Does Each Session Last?

With the exception of the stop-smoking appointment, each hypnotherapy session lasts 60 minutes.

How Does Hypnotherapy Work?

The process begins with an initial consultation, lasting around 60 minutes. During this session, information is gathered about you, and a tailored treatment plan is created. You will be guided to understand how the brain contributes to anger, depression, anxiety, OCD, phobias, and similar concerns, and what can be done to address them. A relaxation audio link will be provided for nightly listening. Subsequent sessions, also lasting 60 minutes, include a 25-minute trance session. Progress is measured together, allowing you to track changes and make lasting improvements in your mindset. Most clients benefit from eight to twelve sessions in total.

What Happens During a Hypnotherapy Trance?

Entering a hypnotic trance is a completely natural state and nothing to fear. People experience trance regularly—while driving, running, or watching television. In hypnotherapy, trance allows the conscious and subconscious minds to work in harmony, focusing together to facilitate positive change.

Can Hypnotherapy Make Me Do Something Against My Will?

Hypnosis does not involve losing control or having your mind overtaken by the therapist. It is impossible to be hypnotised against your will or be compelled to do anything you do not wish to do, contrary to what is sometimes portrayed on television or stage shows.
